ll Timothy 4:3-4
“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to FABLES.” I call those fables the Christian Science Fiction Doctrine (CSFD).
Is the greatest heist of all time the stealing of sound biblical doctrine and replacing it with a false doctrine, thus creating the massively deluded Christian church? I know what you’re thinking, “That’s impossible, I could never be deceived by a false doctrine”. Ask yourself “who is that verse above meant for?”
Everyone but you?
Consider this:
The Apostles asking Jesus in Matthew 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
Jesus told them what the FIRST sign would be: Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, “Take heed that no man deceive you.”
Have you ever questioned if you’re being taught false doctrine? I’m sure you haven’t. The reason you don’t question today’s Christian doctrine is because: 1. You assume pastors and preachers are taught correctly. 2. You don’t have the skills or ability to question them, and 3. Everyone you fellowship with mostly believes the same thing you do. All of which makes you the perfect mark to be deceived.
What do we know about Satan?
Revelation 12:9 “And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.“
One thing we know, the devil is the greatest deceiver of all time, in all eternity even. He was able to deceive a third of all the angels he could topple God from His throne. Those are some serious deceiving skills folks. Once he was tossed out and sent to earth, he found deceiving Adam and Eve to be a walk in the garden.
Something else we know about Satan, he was God’s most brilliant angelic being. The most powerful, the most beautiful and he was the closest to God of anything in eternity. He has been around a long long time. Satan was there when God created the heavens and the earth. He was in on all the planning, and he knows how it all works. He knows how you work. Most importantly, he knows the Bible message better than you, or anybody ever will on this side of eternity.
What does Satan want for us?
1 Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”
The good news is, Satan is a loser, the biggest loser of all time, and he’s not happy about it. The ONLY thing that brings him joy is deceiving, oppressing, and killing God’s children. His biggest thrill is to make sure you never attain the free gift of salvation, or to make sure you fall from the grace you received through Jesus Christ.
It’s been GAME ON since the day his foot met the grounds of earth. The first thing he did was to corrupt Adam and Eve, knowing what God had promised them.
Genesis 2:15 Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”
Satan had the victory. Adam and Eve, through sin, killed their eternal life (and eventually died in the body), with the father, for that’s what being separated from him gains. Spiritual death.
Fortunately for us, our God is a loving God. He had a fail safe plan in place to take the keys of Death, Hell and the Grave away from Satan. If you’re reading here, I’m sure you know that was Jesus Christ, the second Adam. Of course Satan knew about that plan as well, and he even tried to deceive Jesus during the 40 days in the wilderness. Satan new his only hope left to overthrow God was to make Jesus sin. I’m sure Satan’s most miserable day was when he saw Jesus die on that cross, sinless and perfect, because he knew Jesus’ first act in death was to make a house call at the gates of Hades and take back those keys to death, hell, and the grave.
What are Satan’s tactics?
The answer is he has many, and God has provided his children with spiritual armor to protect them from the devil (Ephesians 6:10-17), but he has one tactic that is his favorite, creating false religions and false doctrines as Jesus warned. Using this technique Satan has managed to control the masses from nearly day one. How many religions are there? Quora tells us there are more than 4200 different religions.
Using these religions and doctrines (he has fathered or infiltrated), Satan has had his followers killing and destroying each other throughout time. He especially uses the armies of these religions to kill and destroy God’s chosen peoples, the Israelites, Jews and Christians. In today’s world we watch this happening in real time on our televisions, phones, laptops and pads. At present we see Israel surrounded by its enemies threatening them with total annihilation. Learn about that at our sister site Middle East Peace Plan.
All Christians believe only two of those 4200 religions are correct. Judaism and Christianity. They would never dare to think that either could be a false religion. In spirit that’s true, but what about in reality?
Now to the heart of the matter…
Recognize three methods Satan uses to pervert the Gospel. They are the Translations, Denominations and Doctrines. This blog and community was created to preach to the choir how Satan sowed confusion into the very way we receive what we think is the “Word of God”.
Let’s start with the written word.
Do you really think Satan hasn’t influenced how we interpret the Bible?
Do you not think Satan knows God himself inspired the writings of the Torah, of the prophets, and of the Apostles, as guidelines and inspiration for his children? You don’t think Satan does all he can to confuse the reader? Well let’s ask Wikipedia this question: How many translations of the Bible are there?
As you can see in the graphic, the answer is over 3300. For the sake of our audience, let’s center in on just the English translations. How many are there? More than 450 translations.
The next question is “Why so many?” Have you ever wondered which translation is the right one? (I recommend the King James Version. It’s as good as it gets, but far from perfect). How would you know? How could you know? Isn’t it an obvious deduction that nobody knows if there have been at least 450 attempts? One must come to the conclusion that Satan once again has created confusion through the multiplicity of translations.
Did you pick the right denomination to attend. Including Non-denominational?
What do the scriptures tell us about denominations: 1 Corinthians 1:10 (ESV) we hear the Apostle Paul plead “Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. ” That doesn’t sound very multi denominational now does it?
How many Christian denominations are there? According to the 2014 International Bulletin of Missionary Research, Vol 38, No. 1 the number is a staggering 45,000 and expected to rise to 55,000 by the year 2025.
Looking to Wikipedia we get this explanation:
A Christian denomination is a distinct religious body within Christianity, identified by traits such as a name, organization, leadership and doctrine. Individual bodies, however, may use alternative terms to describe themselves, such as church or sometimes fellowship. Divisions between one group and another are defined by authority and doctrine; issues such as the nature of Jesus, the authority of apostolic succession, eschatology, and papal primacy may separate one denomination from another.
Once again we are dealt with having to make the correct choice in regards to which sect of Christianity is the right one. Once again we must ask why would God cause so much confusion when he clearly tells us in 1 Corinthians 14:33 (KJV) “For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.” Once again we must conclude that Satan created the confusion to cause the division of the one true church. The Koinonia, the spiritual body of Christ.
By now you must now be wondering about your church and the doctrine it subscribes to. Good, you should, it’s very important because God tells us in Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent?” The answer is in verse 17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
God designed us to discover him by hearing his word preached by those He sent. Where do we find those guys? That’s a good question, I address it on the Un-Basics page.
Finally, let’s examine False Doctrine.
There are many warnings in the New Testament about false doctrines and false prophets. Here we see the Apostle Paul really laying it out:
Galatians 1:6-9 (KJV) 6 “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.”
Just so you understand how powerful this warning is, “Accursed” means to be God Damned. Paul repeats himself to make sure you got the message.
Question: “What is false doctrine?”
From Got Questions: Doctrine is “a set of ideas or beliefs that are taught or believed to be true.” Biblical doctrine refers to teachings that align with the revealed Word of God, the Bible. False doctrine is any idea that adds to, takes away from, contradicts, or nullifies the doctrine given in God’s Word. For example, any teaching about Jesus that denies His virgin birth is a false doctrine, because it contradicts the clear teaching of Scripture.
Bottom line time. There is but one doctrine, and Satan has hidden it in a forest of of deception. You need to learn how to recognize false doctrine from true doctrine, and that starts from hearing it. Remember “Faith cometh by hearing, hearing the word of God”.
Are you ready to hear?
Let’s start with the big daddy of false doctrines. The modern day “End Times” teaching. Satan’s masterpiece of deception. Now think about it, what would be his greatest con of all time? To fool the last generation of course.
Remember what Jesus asked in Luke 18:7 “And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them, I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?”
Sadly, the answer may be very little by way of a mass deception.
Today’s End Times doctrine teaching has become an industry. Make no mistake, end times eschatology peddling is a multi-billion dollar money making machine that fills book stores, seminar halls, movie theaters and of course evangelical media outlets. But, do you ever hear about it’s history and origin? Have you ever questioned this? Why not? Watch the video. Then come back and visit the Un-Basics page.
